As an endorsed provider Training in Care have developed and written some short one day courses which are aimed at making learners more employable and can be used as CPD for employers.

Pathways

Mental Health Awareness

​

The Mental Health Awareness Course is an introduction to mental health. It looks at different types of mental illness and how we can positively impact our own mental health.

Dementia Awareness

​

The Dementia Awareness course is aimed at creating awareness of dementia, covering the signs and symptoms as well as the causes.

ADHD Awareness
​

The Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Awareness Course investigates some of the various characteristics and triggers of the disorders as well as ways of identifying them and ways to try and overcome them.

ASD Awareness


​The Autistic Spectrum Disorder course aims to examine the main characteristics of ASD, identify possible triggers of negative behaviour and evaluate strategies that may influence change in behaviour.

Next Steps

​The aim of our ‘Next Steps’ course is to prepare learners for employment within the care sector. The focus of this course is on the learner’s individual and professional development, providing a clear pathway from vocational training into work.

First Aid in the Workplace
​

This online First Aid at Work content is suitable for people who are designated as an appointed person in the workplace. This online content will help meet the needs of those supporting a qualified First Aid at Work (FAW) practitioner. The content also fulfils the requirements for the FAW annual refresher.
The following conditions are covered:
​

  • Unconscious (including seizure)

  • Not breathing normally

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation

  • Bleeding severely

  • Suffering from shock

  • Choking

  • Suffering from a heart attack

Level 1 Food Safety
​

This online Food Safety content is designed to provide individuals that handle open food the essential knowledge and understanding of good Food Safety Practice. The aim of this training content is to provide candidates with a fundamental knowledge of food hygiene and to enable them to apply this knowledge to essential practical skills in order to prevent food poisoning.The course covers the following:
​

  • Introduction to Food Safety

  • Hazards associated with Food Safety

  • Food poisoning and contamination

  • HACCP

  • Temperatures

  • Personal Hygiene

  • Allergies and Intolerances

  • Premises, Equipment and Pest Control

  • Cleaning and Disinfecting

  • Legislation and requirements

Level 2 Food Safety

Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults

Our online Safeguarding content is designed for any staff in who work with vulnerable adults and will raise awareness of the importance of Safeguarding people at risk. Staff completing this content will be in a better position to implement their company adult protection policy and the procedures they should follow. The course covers the following:
